We are happy to announce, talented Ahmet Mustafa Farghali joins Sandsoft Games as Senior Game Artist.

We could not resist asking Ahmet about his way to the games industry, sources of his inspiration and his favourite games, of course.

“After I graduated from the Faculty of fine arts I worked in the animation industry. – says Ahmet. – In 2015 I met a friend, who was working on his own car game. He asked for my help and introduced me to the fundamental requirements for the game modelling, that is different from the animation industry models (polycount, using atlas texturing etc.) I kept working in the game industry as a freelancer and sharpened my skills. In 2018 game industry in Turkey boomed: Peak, and it’s hit game Toyblast, and I took the decision to shift completely to the game industry.”

“My source of inspiration is following the new game trends, the new artstyle, the new artists and playing the top games and newly released ones.”

What are some of the most challenging technical aspects of 3D modelling, and how do you stay up-to-date with the latest software and hardware developments in the field?

“The main challenge in 3D modelling is to provide the best look, especially with a model that requires high details with the lowest expense for the game performance. To stay up-to-date with the latest software and hardware means following channels, and forums that inform on the latest versions in that field, as well as being a part of the community that shares the same interests.”

What is your favourite game? What artstyle does it have?

“I love the stylized character and environment designs in Brawl Stars, the mechanics, UI and VFX are amazing in Survivor io; I like League of Legends: Wild Rift because of the smart way of designing the characters with big details instead of small, as well as the high-low poly modelling, baking the details from the model to the texture maps, 2d painting ensures high details and quality that fit the mobile and doesn’t affect the performance. And there are a lot of other examples!”

Good luck, Ahmet Mustafa Farghali, on your fist day. We are so happy to have you in our team!
